Standards and Claims

Hub · standards and claims

The claim-checking backbone for lower-impact home content.

This hub will document how Measured Habitat evaluates environmental claims, labels, certifications, product specs, and savings statements. It is not a substitute for legal, safety, or engineering advice.

Why this matters

“Eco-friendly” is only useful when the claim is specific and checkable.

Future articles should name what is being claimed, what evidence supports it, what is still uncertain, and whether the claim affects the buying decision.

Future checks

The system should make uncertainty visible.

Product specsManuals, spec sheets, model numbers, warranty language, and safety notes.
Environmental labelsCertification scope, issuer, auditability, and whether it applies to the exact product.
Energy and cost claimsUsage assumptions, regional variables, and source-backed ranges.

This hub should protect the whole site from greenwash.

Before articles go live, claim QA should be reflected in templates, research workbooks, and disclosure language.
